Product Introduction

Melt pressure stability is the core guarantee for dimensional uniformity of extruded products. This production line is equipped with two high-precision metering pumps (50cc) between the extruder and the die. The metering pumps smooth out pressure fluctuations caused by screw rotation through forced, pulse-free gear output, ensuring constant melt flow and stable pressure into the 1-out-6 die. This design significantly improves dimensional consistency among the 6 strands and along the product length, controlling width and thickness tolerances stably within ±0.05mm. It is a key technology for achieving high-quality, high-uniformity products.

Customer Questions & Answers
Q: Why two metering pumps instead of one?
A: Two pumps in parallel or series distribute melt more evenly to the 6 channels of the 1-out-6 die. Each pump handles part of the channels, reducing the risk of uneven distribution from a single pump outlet, and provides redundancy for higher reliability.
Q: Do metering pumps increase melt pressure? Do they affect the extruder?
A: Metering pumps do create some backpressure, but they are active conveying devices, not resistance elements. With proper sizing, the pump inlet pressure remains stable, imposing no additional load on the extruder. Instead, they isolate screw fluctuations, making the extruder operate more smoothly.
Q: Do metering pumps need separate heating? How is temperature controlled?
A: Yes. The pump bodies have independent heaters, and temperature is controlled in coordination with the extruder die head temperature to prevent melt from cooling and solidifying inside the pump. Control accuracy is also ±1°C.
